Teams are a feature that divides players who are in a game into multiple in-game groups. On ROBLOX, many places, usually competitive places, have teams. They are an in-game feature, which puts Robloxians onto different teams. Team members can have any BrickColor that is available and seen if a shirt is not worn. Clothes, such as shirts, pants, or a combination of both, may be pre-set for a certain team, such as wearing a SWAT uniform alongside a hat/hats that fits with the uniform if on a SWAT team.
Usually, in war places, there are at least two teams opposing each other, although more teams can be seen in some places.
Many users have taken advantage of the team feature to make more features for teams, such as Anti-Team Killing scripts (also known as Anti-TK) to kill any players who have damaged and/or killed their own teammates or to ignore damage that is done to teammates by the player. Also seen are team switching GUIs, (in which the player click for the team he/she would want to be on) in which a player can manually switch to the other team from one team and vice versa. Another great functionality is to separate clans and enemies using the IsInGroup() function on RBX.lua.
In classic team games, often there would be a script made by ROBLOX that people would add that would "uniform" team players. Unless changed, the colors set would be Black (26) for the arms and legs, Bright yellow (24) for the head, and their torso would be their current team color. The script resides in the humanoidAnimateLocal.rbxm file found in the \content\fonts folder in the ROBLOX version folder inside the temporary directory.
When chat was updated in December 2016, when you switch teams, a notification will appear in the chat log that your team is now (team).
How to Add Teams
Teams is a game service that adds team functionality to a ROBLOX game. Team names and colors, along with all the players on that team, are visible in-game on the leaderboard.
